Next Meeting

Our next meeting is to be held on Monday 13^th September at our base, 85 Cessnock Road, Weston at 6pm.

 

The base is now air-conditioned which makes it a lot more comfortable for Committee Meetings

Our Service now has a Facebook Page.  If you are a Facebook user, look us up under Hunter Mobile Preschool and click the button and share it with your friends.

Cookbooks

There are still cookbooks available and they have been quite a hit.  Remember, Father’s Day is just around the corner and every Dad would love one as a gift. Cookbooks are $19.95 each; please see the staff at your venue to purchase them.

 

Mobile Meet 2010

Pre-school will be closed from 6^th – 9^th September in order for staff to attend a conference in Dubbo with specific training for Mobile Services.  No fees are charged for these days.

 

Mobile Meet is a once a year opportunity for staff to interact with other people engaging in similar situations.  Staff will attend a broad array of training workshops ranging from the Pre-school Growth Programme, to Practical Music and School Transition.

 

Staff would like to thank the Committee and parents for their support in our attendance at Mobile Meet and we look forward to the adventure in Dubbo.

 

 

2011 Enrolments

Enrolments for 2011 are being collated.  Please let staff know of your plans.  The tough decision regarding school starting and readiness is very much on the agenda with lots of families.  Please talk to staff and local schools for more information regarding start date and enrolment details.

New Equipment

Please keep your eyes open for the fabulous array of new equipment filtering through.  We have purchased some excellent gross motor, dramatic play and imaginative items which will enhance your child’s pre-school experience. Thank you to Committee for approving these purchases and thank you to everyone for your continued support of the Service’s fundraising efforts.

Free to good homes

We currently have a few items that we are looking to rehouse.    A Compaq Presarid 7480 PC and monitor with a Lexmark Z31 printer, small RAM and runs Windows 98, a portable NEC TV (without AV connections) and a Thorn VHS player/recorder.  If you would like any of these, please call Liz in the office on 49362115

 Pre-school Hats

Beautiful, brightly coloured, great quality Pre-school Hats are on sale at all venues for $12 each.  They are the type of hat recommended for the best sun protection and have our Service Logo embroidered on them. 

 

Fees

A big thank you to all those parents keeping their fees up to date!  Our Service relies on fees and it is essential that they are paid on time.  Reduced fees are available at varying rates for families on reduced income (proof of income required).  Please ask staff for an application form if you would like to apply.

 

If fee payments are a problem, please talk to one of the teachers at your venue or contact Liz in the office, 49362115, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.

 

Toy Catalogues

We are pleased to once again be able to offer you an opportunity to get a head start on your Christmas shopping and support our service at the same time.  For all purchases made from the toy catalogues, Pre-school receives a credit from the supplier that is used towards buying resources and craft items for the children.

 

Orders from these catalogues need to be returned to Pre-school by 17^th September.

 

Have you changed your details since enrolment?

If you have changed your mobile number, work number, home number, address, have new emergency contacts or have any medical updates (eg allergies, medications, injury risks) please let us know by filling in the attached slip and returning it to Pre-school as soon as possible.  We need to keep your and your child’s details up to date for your child’s comfort and safety.

 

Changes to Child Restraint Laws

Please don’t forget that the following new regulations that are part of national safety reforms came into effect on 1^st March 2010 and the grace period for this has ended as at 30^th June 2010.

§      Children younger than 6 months must be secured in rearward facing restraints

§      Children between 6 months and 4 years must be secured in either a rear or forward facing restraint

§      Children between 4 and 7 years must be secured in a forward facing child restraint or booster seat

§      Children younger than 4 years cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with two or more rows

§      Children between 4 and less than 7 years cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with two or more rows, unless all other back seats are occupied by children younger than 7 years in a child restraint or booster seat
